"College admissions cheating scandal"

No surprises here . . . happens in many places - US should be a model of propriety?

What's interesting to me is that this issue, in which maybe 200 students are affected, is getting all the media attention, whereas the sudden closure of Argosy University, which has stranded something like 20,000 students, isn't getting anywhere near as much coverage. Perhaps if actresses had been involved it would be more newsworthy?

Lifestyles of the Rich and Shameless

After all of these years of leftist Hollowood railing against the unfairness of college admissions it turns out that unfairness standard excludes themselves.

Two celebrities hardly represents all of Hollywood, leftist or otherwise. But it is quite a scandal.

Still, it's interesting how it's getting all the attention, unlike the collapse of Argosy University, which has stranded 20,000 students yet gotten much less media attention. If only two of them had been actresses....

It's difficult to call something a scam or a scandal when the forces perpetrating it believe in it too. Our cultic obsession with higher education and the shamanistic iconography of degree accreditation is better called a tragic mass delusion.......

You can't make this stuff up

My stock reply to these sort of things is that the REAL problem is that some universities are that highly valued.

The education system should be as equal as possible.

Even if I agreed with your description of our culture's relationship to higher education (which I don't), having other people take a test for you is still a scam.
