The Future of the World
Re: The Future of the World
Presumably "ever" means the period after 1945...Mr. Perfect wrote: ↑Tue Jun 12, 2018 5:21 pm
And European power was only ever based on their being our partners. Without us they will turn into Africa or South America, a disjointed collection of estranged neighbors.
I regret to disappoint you, but Europe is a lot more than just these sorry last few decades. Europeans will soon realize that they can very well manage on their own, as soon as they get rid of allies like the US and of politicians with the souls of serfs. Not to become a major power imposing its will around the world - that's a typical American trait - but to improve our own quality of life and to assist other peoples to develop, grow economically, and become reliable partners in the world community. We aspire becoming a major centre for science and research, for the arts and for technology. Respecting all other peoples and refusing to exploit or take advantage of them. But, of course, non-Europeans prefer to think otherwise in order to give them a phony feeling of superiority...

Europe has been saved by Americans twice. WWII and the Cold War.Sertorio wrote: ↑Tue Jun 12, 2018 4:21 pmIf Europe can be saved it will be by Europeans alone, without the dead weight of an aggressive and clueless US...Mr. Perfect wrote: ↑Tue Jun 12, 2018 1:41 pmAlso keep in mind that in the next few years most of those world leaders will be gone, and Trump is sailing into a 2nd term.
As such, if we have several Trump like leaders in 4 years time perhaps Europe can be saved.

In WW II, Europe was saved from... Europeans... And the cold war never reached a point in which we would need to be saved...cassowary wrote: ↑Wed Jun 13, 2018 9:27 amEurope has been saved by Americans twice. That's right. You lot are so hopeless that you needed to be saved from yourselves. What would you do if you did not have the Americans to save you.Sertorio wrote: ↑Wed Jun 13, 2018 10:19 amIn WW II, Europe was saved from... YOu are forgetting something. Without America, there won't even be a Cold War. The Russians would have walked all the way to the Atlantic and Europe will become a giant gulag ruled by your favorite people - Socialist dictators like Staiin. Besides, it was the US that won the Cold War and saved E Europe from Socialist dictators. And the cold war never reached a point in which we would need to be saved...

Re: The Future of the World
The future of the world isn't in globalism, it's in a self conscious technological meta state based on meritocracy. It's not national, it's not ethno though certainly not hostile towards those things - the meritocracy integrates society across class and demographic lines. It is not the mystical magical global community where nations and ethnicities simply disappear. That's not what an advanced civilisation looks like, that's only a future-dream that appeals to emotional four year olds.......
