The Chinese, like everybody else, have done some dumb things in their long history. The dumbest thing they did was to adopt Socialism/Communism. So they still suffer under the dictatorship of the Chinese Communist Party.
Thanks cass.

With all due respects though: Did not the Communists come to power at the end of a long and bloody civil war?

Well, it means that the Communists came to power by force of arms. A people who are conquered by force of arms normally have to live according to the terms and conditions imposed by the conqueror.

You are right. Then it is not the Chinese people's fault. It is the fault of the Socialists/Communists.

We call the same cadre of characters Social Justice Warriors which defo has a more Mao's Little Red Book feel than the term actual Chinese are using. Amusing irony in that .....;).......
Here's an interesting description of SJW by Jordan Peterson...

Cassowary, rather than apportion blame, better to dismiss it as an historic tragedy:

The preceding regime, the Kuomintang, had lost the confidence and support of the Chinese people.

Baizuo

Post by Doc » Wed May 02, 2018 6:04 pm

Over the weekend a high school girl went to her senior prom in a Chinese dress. SHe was heavily criticized by online SJWs for her "Cultural appropriation" of Chinese culture in wearing a Chinese dress.

http://www.thisisinsider.com/girl-accus ... ess-2018-4

People are accusing a teenage girl of cultural appropriation for wearing a traditional Chinese dress to prom

She said in her defense that she really respects Chinese culture and she thought the dress was beautiful. People in China are reported to be pleased she wore the dress and feel honored by her doing so.

Well it turns out that the Chinese actually have a word for SJWs

"Baizuo"

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baizuo
Baizuo (Chinese: 白左, literally "White left(ies)"[1]) is a derogatory Chinese epithet that came into being in the middle 2010's.[2][3] The word received attention in Germany where it was seen as criticizing the immigration policies of Angela Merkel.[4][5][6]
Context and usage

The word baizuo is, according to political scientist Zhang Chenchen, a Chinese word that ridicules Western "Liberal elites".[7] The term has also been used to refer to perceived double standards of the Western media, such as the alleged bias on reporting about Islamist attacks in Xinjiang.[8][9][10]

Zhang Chenchen further defined the word "baizuo" with the definition "People who only care about topics such as immigration, minorities, LGBT and the environment" and “have no sense of real problems in the real world”; they are hypocritical humanitarians who advocate for peace and equality only to “satisfy their own feeling of moral superiority”; they are “obsessed with political correctness” to the extent that they “tolerate backwards Islamic values for the sake of multiculturalism”; they believe in the welfare state that “benefits only the idle and the free riders”; they are the “ignorant and arrogant westerners” who “pity the rest of the world and think they are saviours”.[11]

Baizuo is used as an insult amongst Chinese netizens.

If you recall, I started a thread of this long ago. Chinese people see western leftists as stupid, ridiculous people. Some even think they are mentally deranged.
