Vive la France

Post by Jim the Moron » Wed Apr 25, 2018 8:47 am

Been watching President Macron's address to the U.S. Congress. The usual platitudes, but some good stuff, too. He's fluent in English, as contrasted with President Trump, whose knowledge of French is limited to voulez vous coucher avec moi.

Can imagine Trump speaking this evening at the White House - "Macron? What a wimp." And Macron - "Trump? What a dumb-ass."

Figuratively speaking, of course... :D But what do you think Macron was doing in Washington? Accepting Trumps diktat on Iran, I suppose. Macron still says that he favours the present agreement with Iran, but he already speaks of further sanctions against Iran to force it to drop its missile building. In other words, he is in favour of dropping sanctions against Iran on account of Iran's willingness to stop nuclear developmemt, but he wants to replace those sanctions with equal ones on account of the missile issue. Put in a different way, Iran signed a treaty in order to stop economic sanctions, just to see them brought back under another excuse. What did Iran gain with that nuclear treaty? Nothing!...

What the f***does Iran want thermonuclear weapons and its own missiles for? Who threatens it?

The US. Who else? Just like in the time of Mossadegh. Aren't we all fed up yet with the US imperialistic delusions?...

Thermonuclear weapons mounted on missiles are NOT weapons of defence but offensive weapons. Iran could aspire to have them only for the purpose of attacking someone else - like Israel.

Deterrence. Just like North Korea. Only countries with nuclear weapons may be sure of not being targeted by the US.

Well, from 1953 until the time less than a decade ago when NK exploded its first rest atomic bomb, the USA had left NK alone. During this long period what was to stop the USA from wiping NK off the map? Only American self restraint!

The same cannot be said about North Korea's treatment of South Korea:

These were/are nothing less than acts of war that South Korea would have been well within its rights to respond to with war - but still responded with self-restraint.
