It isn't just oil. American LNG is coming to Europe.

"Berlin woos US in Europe gas battle"
https://www.bangkokpost.com/news/world/ ... gas-battle

"Germany and the US share an interest in secure and dependable energy supplies."
Logical... Europe has plenty of oil and gas just accross the eastern border, but it would prefer to import them from the US, because the US is more reliable!... Just ask the Iranians (or the Venezuelans) how reliable the US is...
Could it be that the Europeans prefer to have choices? Seems reasonable to me . . .
We have choices without any need for US oil or gas. Portugal gets its natural gas from Algeria.

But why shouldn't Germany (or any other country) consider purchases of US oil or gas as an option over other sources?

True. But nobody trusts Czar PutPut except you of course. So the Europeans don't want to be dependent on Russian gas even though it is cheaper.

Hundreds of million of people all over the world trust Russia and Putin more than they trust the US. Which is quite understandable. Who can trust a country which denounces every treaty it has ever signed?

And yet it's Russian policymakers, not U.S. ones, who have used gas supplies to blackmail Europeans into accepting Putin's position on Ukraine. They'd be fools not to diversify their supply.

You couldn't find a more reliable source than a 2014 article in an Ukainian newspaper?... And do you really think that Europe is being blackmailed by Russia? Blackmailed into doing what?...
