Well, what was the purpose of invading Ukraine?
Putting an end to the attempt by NATO to push Russia against the wall. And NATO may very well not survive its failure to intimidate Russia. This war is going to become a major disaster mostly for Europe, which will force Europe to review its strategic commitments. Sooner or later Europe will have to turn its back on the US and try to restore its relationship with Russia.
