Turkey is having economic difficulties. So they need help. There must be some way the west can exert pressure.

Turkey also has a decades old secessionist revolt taking place in its hinterland. Which issue takes precedence?cassowary wrote: ↑Sat May 14, 2022 7:54 pmTurkey is having economic difficulties. So they need help. There must be some way the west can exert pressure.

Typical western way of thinking. You don't try to understand other people's motives or grievances. You exert pressure... That's why the west will be defeated in the Ukraine and why most of the world refuses to follow US sanctions against Russia. You will never learn, so your butt must be kicked very hard...cassowary wrote: ↑Sat May 14, 2022 7:54 pmTurkey is having economic difficulties. So they need help. The one most ruthless in exerting pressure is Putin. He didn't want Ukraine to join NATO. So he exerted pressure by invading. What I had in mind with Turkey is this. They need help. So in exchange for help, they must agree to SWeden and Finland joining NATO.Sertorio wrote: ↑Sun May 15, 2022 1:32 amTypical western way of thinking. One thing is exerting pressure when one's security is at risk, another thing is doing it in the pursuit of imperial designs...cassowary wrote: ↑Sun May 15, 2022 2:52 amThe one most ruthless in exerting pressure is Putin. Isn’t Putin attack on Ukraine in the pursuit of imperial design? He wants a new Russian empire.Sertorio wrote: ↑Sun May 15, 2022 4:45 amOne thing is exerting pressure when one's security is at risk, another thing is doing it in the pursuit of imperial designs...cassowary wrote: ↑Sun May 15, 2022 2:52 amThe one most ruthless in exerting pressure is Putin. Be wise. Putin does not need a new Russian empire. All he wants is for other countries to leave Russia alone. Stop trying to subdue Russia and Russia will stop reacting. But the US was scared stiff of Europe and Russia getting together, which would put an end to the American dominance over Europe. And so the Ukraine had to be sacrificed to force Europe to split away from Russia. Now Europe and the US will have to pay the price for their aggression.cassowary wrote: ↑Sun May 15, 2022 4:58 amIsn’t Putin attack on Ukraine in the pursuit of imperial design? You are talking a lot of rubbish, Sertorio. America is not trying to dominate Europe. America is protecting Europe from Russia. The aggressor is Russia.Sertorio wrote: ↑Sun May 15, 2022 8:17 amBe wise. Putin does not need a new Russian empire. All he wants is for other countries to leave Russia alone.
