But reality is very different. I think Russia is wary of China.
One of the purposes of an alliance is to constrain the options and activities of the respective parties, more so than joining together for a common purpose. I can trust you because we signed a joint agreement that you will stay out of my bedroom and I out of yours. You still have to take out the garbage though.....'>.......
I think Putin-Xi alliance is like the Hitler-Xi alliance. Both know it won’t last.

Do you truly believe that in this time of internet Russians cannot have access to a variety of opinions? They are as well informed as any person in the US or the UK, so if they keep supporting Putin is because they think that his positive points are more important than his negative ones. And because the alternatives are as bad in Russia as they are in the US or Europe...
Um Sertorio, you are being realistic. Russia imposes strict censorship on the internet.
In June 2020, the European Court of Human Rights ruled against Russia in a case involving the blocking of websites critical of the government (including that of Garry Kasparov), as the plaintiffs' freedom of speech had been violated.[8]
Western leftists ilke you always side with the most evil regimes.
1. Which foreign main news sites in the internet have been blocked by the authorities?
2. The most evil regime I know is the American one, and I never side with it... :D
That's because you have a different view of what is good and evil. To you, the Red Terror and Killing Fields are not evil because they were attempts to create your perfect Socialist society. Perhaps they were mistaken but their intentions were good.

For the rest of us normal folks, we place the highest good on human lives. So they are evil.

By the way, have you seen a shrink yet?

Russia should join QUAD?

We are trying to stop China's maritime expansion into the Pacific also.

Maybe. The "good guys" allied themselves with Stalin to fight Hitler and Hirohitho. So maybe we need to do the same with China by allying (temporarily) with Russia. Make no mistake. China will become more powerful than the US. We will need all the allies we can get.

Oh I forgot to mention. India has been trying to get Putin to ally with India against China. Don't forget India is part of the Quad. Note the article I posted. Russia still sells S400 missiles to India but not to China after Xi upsetted Russia with the noisy protests against Vladivostok.

China is only an obstacle to those holding delusions of power... And the Chinese were civilized when the ancestors of present day Americans were still living in caves...

Well, this current regime in Bejing is not civilized. You are deluded in thinking if America is vanquished your dream of Socialism will triumph. China is officially a communist country but in reality it is an aristocracy of princelings.
