N Korea? Iran? Venezuela? Cuba? All the nastiest, thuggish countries that appear near at the bottom of the Democracy Index. All were classified as authoritarian. You take their side against the US. Fascinating. As Lizzy girl said, “Lie down on that couch.”
Lie down on that couch, Sertorio. Let Dr Cassowary help you. When someone cannot see the plain truth, it’s usually because the truth hurts.
Lie down on that couch and let us find out where your pain comes from.

You are, of course, entitled to your fantasies. But demonizing China is a rather futile exercise. China will expel the US from Asia, and most Asian countries will end up by thanking China for the effort...Doc wrote: ↑Fri Feb 12, 2021 6:05 am

Aha ha ha. I am only trying to help you see the truth Sertorio. The truth will set you free. How can you be a libertarian when you support the most illiberal countries in the world? I have shown you the Democracy Index. Your favorite countries are near the bottom. They are the most unfree countries. The fact that you can't see reality means you need help.Sertorio wrote: ↑Fri Feb 12, 2021 12:48 amMy pain, in the neck, is you!...cassowary wrote: ↑Thu Feb 11, 2021 8:54 pmBut you call yourself a libertarian socialist. Yeah. You are a victim of the Socialist god. You support the worst dictators in the world so long as they are Socialist. And you consider yourself a libertarian! Socialism, the secular god, is nothing but an excuse to exploit people.Besides your suffering from Stockholm syndrome in respect of the US... My idea of liberty is letting people live as they wish, free of the malevolent who want to change the world in the name of their god, which is nothing but their excuse to exploit those they think are weaker than themselves.
America is far from perfect. But if it saves us from these two tyrannies, Russia and China, the US will forever earn the world's thanks.China and Russia are far from perfect, but if they free us from the American tyranny they will forever be the objects of my thanks...

I have no doubts that China commits human rights abuses. But so does the US, the UK and Australia, just to mention a few countries. Which may not be seen as an excuse for China, but should advise us not to make such a fuss about a single country.Doc wrote: ↑Fri Feb 12, 2021 7:57 amTake your pick:Sertorio wrote: ↑Fri Feb 12, 2021 6:46 amYou are, of course, entitled to your fantasies. It is being seen here as an excuse for the CCP here. A bold statement that "Slavery is Freedom" Freedom is never Slavery Sertorio, unless you are the slave owner. After acknowledging the Human rights abuses coming up with a whataboutism in defense for a horrible authoritarian regime doesn't protest you or the world from the authoritarianism of that regime. It encourages it.Sertorio wrote: ↑Fri Feb 12, 2021 10:23 amI have no doubts that China commits human rights abuses. But so does the US, the UK and Australia, just to mention a few countries. Re: It begins - the roll back of democracy
Don't be naive. If people were truly horrified about violation of human rights, they would start by bettering the situation in their own countries. You don't improve the human right situation in China by attacking it. You would have a much better chance to do it by treating China with fairness and resorting to diplomacy. That's one situation in which the carrot works a lot better than the stick. But the West doesn't really give a damn about human rights in China, it just wants to hurt China...Doc wrote: ↑Fri Feb 12, 2021 10:38 amIt is being seen here as an excuse for the CCP here. Re: It begins - the roll back of democracy
But China is a far, far worse offender. The US does not imprison 1 million Muslims to get them to change their religion. You always support the most totalitarian regimes with the worst human rights abuses and wants them to defeat America which has a far better human rights record. And you call yourself a “libertarian socialist.”Sertorio wrote: ↑Fri Feb 12, 2021 10:23 amI have no doubts that China commits human rights abuses.
