Russia's bounty on US and other Allied troops in Afghanistan

It's not much of a shock to hear in the weekend's news that Russia has been paying Taliban fighters in Afghanistan a bounty to kill US, British and other coalition troops. It's always been a core mission of Vladimir Putin's Russia to oppose, undermine and discredit the US and the West wherever it can.

But it is a shock to hear that the US knew about this months ago and did nothing about it. On the contrary, the Trump administration actually intensified its love affair with Putin in the meantime. And that the US briefed the British government on the matter only last week.
It makes you wonder what sort of "dirt" Putin may have on Trump that could turn the latter into a traitor to his country.

It's not dirt, it's that gangster money is the only reason Trump's in business at all.

I doubt the Taliban would need the money incentive to go out and kill Americans, so I doubt Putin would want to waste his money to get, at best, a marginal increase in American casualties. Then, if you remember, the US gave the Taliban Stinger missiles to kill Russians in Afghanistan. Is that much different from offering money?...
