Allegedly. There are some doubts that Franklin actually said that.
Understandably so! Benjamin Franklin was an esteemed scientist and prodigious inventor in his day. He also went on to ably serve his country as George Washington's envoy to the royal French court at Versailles.

I do not believe that such a high-caliber individual would have made a fool of himself making such an absurd statement.

One more time.

He didn't say it.
Ben may not have said it but that does not mean the part about two wolves devouring on the lamb is not true. There are two voters with below average income for every voter above average income.

That’s why you get high taxes to pay for the welfare state which benefits those with below average income.

Those below average income are thus the wolves while those above are the lambs.

Maybe it is less gory and more funny to put it in another way. There are two bums for every one brain. So in a democracy, the bums will always out vote the brains. Thus you get a government of bums and for the bums. :D
What about two victims for every gangster?... :D Although while the victims may outvote the gangster, the gangster always wins because he owns the media and corrupts the decision makers...

That may be true of the feudal era. During the Ancien Regime of France the top 1 or 2 % don't pay taxes. Money flowed from the taxes the peasants paid to the nobility. Today, those at the bottom don't pay income taxes. Maybe they still pay sales tax but the bulk of the taxes comes from those with above average income. The money flows downwards nowadays in the form of social security pensions, unemployment benefits, free medical care. That's because the decision makers are elected by the majority.

Who are the majority? It is those with below average income because they outnumber those with above average income two to one. Marx's ideas were inspired by the French Revolution. He predicted more revolutions as the oppressed revolt against the nobility.

Today things are different, Sertorio. Just watch where the money flows. It flows downwards not upwards. Marx's ideas are outdated. It is those with above average income who are now the victims who are being devoured by the wolves from the lower income groups.

YOU KNOW WHO HAS MORE POWER BY WATCHING WHICH WAY THE MONEY FLOWS. MONEY FLOWS FROM THE POWERLESS TO THE POWERFUL. IN A DEMOCRACY THE POWERFUL WOULD BE THE LOWER INCOME GROUPS BECAUSE THERE ARE MORE OF THEM.

Taiwan's President Tsai Ing-wen has China to thank for landslide re-election win

Post by Milo » Mon Jan 13, 2020 8:16 am

Saturday's election victory for Taiwan's President Tsai Ing-wen was big, but the defeat for Beijing was bigger, a stark lesson the dictatorship next door — no matter how powerful or prosperous — holds little appeal for the only part of "Greater China" that gets a real vote on its own democratic future.
Beijing's impulse to intimidate all challengers clearly backfired during the campaign. And yet, it continues. Hours after Tsai's win, Chinese state news agency Xinhua accused her party, DPP, of using "dirty tactics, such as cheating." It went on to label her "selfish, greedy and evil."

Throughout the campaign, China was accused of its own campaign of misinformation and dirty tricks in support of Tsai's opponents.
Just seven months ago, as Hong Kong was waking up to Beijing's efforts to exert control and limit democratic rights, it looked as if Tsai was headed for defeat. Polls put her some 15 points behind her rival, Han.
Then voters started to notice the connection with Hong Kong.

"We saw the aggression of China," said Gary Yen. "We saw what happened in Hong Kong, and people in Taiwan are concerned if Taiwan is going to be next."

The Chinese outside China don’t like China because it is ruled by the CCP.

In fact nobody outside China likes China except western leftists. They also like Iran, Russia, the Palestinians and Fatty Kim.
