i wish I could name a country where the government (elected or non-elected) does not neglect its people these days. Do you know of any?

That is strange. In a dictatorship, the most important people are its soldiers and police. These are the ones they need to take care of best. I don't know what Xi is thinking. Can't he find the money to pay them a decent pension?

If disaffection among the soldiers spread, the days of the regime are numbered.
