Cut it out Doc! The Nazis were uber nationalists, not socialists.
Their regime was not working for the common good but only for that of the "pure Aryan master race"; and given the tragedy of utter defeat they brought down upon Germany they were not even competent about doing that.
To work for the common good is inclusive of everybody. German National Socialism was exclusive of everyone other than the godless chosen people as defined by the party ideologues.

The Nazi left wing, represented by the SA, was dealt with in 1934. After that, what was left of the Nazi party was no longer interested in socialism.neverfail wrote: ↑Mon Jul 22, 2019 6:53 pmCut it out Doc! The Nazis were uber nationalists, not socialists.

Politically speaking, the SA were more radical than the SS, with its leaders arguing the Nazi revolution had not ended when Hitler achieved power, but rather needed to implement socialism in Germany

Yes, Cass. There was a socialist side to nazism. But it was as representative of socialism as stalinism in the Soviet Union. You may be interested in exploring this:Strasserism (German: Strasserismus or Straßerismus) is a strand of Nazism that calls for a more radical, mass-action and worker-based form of Nazism—hostile to Jews not from a racial, ethnic, cultural or religious perspective, but from an anti-capitalist basis—to achieve a national rebirth. It derives its name from Gregor and Otto Strasser, two brothers initially associated with this position.
Otto Strasser, who strategically opposed the views of Adolf Hitler, was expelled from the Nazi Party in 1930 and went into exile in Czechoslovakia, while Gregor Strasser was murdered in Germany on 30 June 1934 during the Night of the Long Knives.

Trump fits the profile of a nationalist socialist quite nicely.
Re: "Nazis were not socialists so we have never tried true Nationalist Socialism"
Not at all He hasn't proposed anything like "The common good before the individual good" That is a Democratic/Nazi party thing.

He hands out government goodies whenever it suits him and puts his country first.
I hope your analysis of politics is not confined to what politicians say!
Re: "Nazis were not socialists so we have never tried true Nationalist Socialism"
Since when is "handing out government goodies" (i.e. pork barreling targeted groups of supporters - they all do that?) supposed to be a sign that he is "putting his country first" MIlo?
(Trump putting his country ahead of himself?
