Google never said it would support free speech.

Even if it did, it has no obligations to do so.

This is your free enterprise world Doc, enjoy!
Google then has no expectation that it will not be sued for liable for what others post on its sites. But they do because they are supposed to be protect as a "pass through" service. BY LAW. If they aren't a pass through service then why are they protected from liable suits?
How quickly you abandon free speech!

Google specifically is not only censoring content, it is also controlling (should say extorting) businesses. It suppresses search results according to a ransom policy so that business sites are shown not according to relevance but according to Tha amount of ransom that they pay on a monthly basis to Google. (Unrelated to paid ads)
I'd rather be diving or flying alas for now I am on terra firma.

In hindsight it seems obvious: only the Republican Party could bring socialism to America!

duckduckgo.com for a search engine.
Do you know what their revenue model is? Do you use it, and if so is it a good one?

As far as social media goes there agreement with the government is that they face no liability for what is posted on there sites by users AS LONG AS THEY ARE A PASS THROUGH MEDIUM. Clearly editing and deleting content is not a pass through. So what I am hoping is someone will start a class action lawsuit...
What will happen is that the Feds and/or EU will shake them down, fine them a ton of money, and after that it will be business as usual, just like the Microsoft antitrust case in the '90s.
Hi Steve I just saw this:

Hi Steve I just saw this:

Whoa, interesting. Thanks for that. I'm starting a review of my use of social media and Google, and trying to manage it really is pretty tricky. But I think I'll give DDG a try and see whether it works for me.

If you really want your eyes opened install NoScript. It can be a real pain sometimes because of the number of trackers on some sites that you have to go through to see the content, but that is the point of it. https://noscript.net/

Also haven't tried this viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1999but FYI: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/e ... 52_C009079
The Firefox Facebook Container

Facebook helps political advertisers target you by tracking your activity on and off their platform.

This extension makes it easier to explore the web without Facebook watching, so you can keep your political opinions to yourself and your dinner companions.
Another trick to see what your computer is connected to over your internet connection (not just your browser) is to open command prompt then type in netstat /a to get a list of all connections and listening ports.

You can then search for what the port typically is Example: "port 443" in duckduckgo.com

Or if an IP address or host name is showing:
https://www.ipaddress.com/search/

Breitbart got their hands on an internal Google report which they claim advocates for Google to give up American values of Free Speech and move to "European censorship." At first I assumed their headlines were correct as it fit nicely with my already established worldview. However while reading the report I realized the Breitbart articles were incredibly misleading and completely wrong about the report.

As someone that spent a large amount of money on google, I can tell you this, it is all about $$$. Google is not my friend. And I have literally told Google that. Reports are that Google is refusing to do any work for the pentagon while build a special system for China that allows China to monitor all users of its users and who exactly they are makes me think that the Chinese government is paying more than the pentagon.
