Re: Trump suggests the death penalty for drug pushers

Death penalty for drunk drivers who kill? Death penalty to abortionists who kill? Death penalty to polluters that kill? Death penalty for the Doctors who kill by "hooking" their trusting patients on opiods? Death penalty for the corrupt politicians bought off by the pharmaceuticals companies in exch...

Killing another human being is a God given right to the people of the US...
I pity the students you are and have indoctrinated... University's are full of bile spitting partisan propagandists quite to the detriment of civilized society.

Re: Australian Minister explains where the HIGHEST gun deaths occurred…and it’s not in America

So, he wasn't an individual, he was a "government"? Well he did protect himself. Only problem is that his job as a government employee was to protect others. You are absolutely right Doc. He would not be the only law enforcement officer in your country by any means to do similar. (They accuse this ...

Re: cursed be the US gun lobby!

The Second Amendment when I read a copy of it last conferred no such universal right to gun ownership but rather a public DUTY on citizens to be prepared to defend the country in organised militias when necessary. Re: Crimea

The bit about genes was pretty obtuse, but you're not wrong that far too many Americans simply don't know what crimes the U.S. government does in their name and don't care about what happens in other countries. For too many Americans, the world effectively stops at the border. Not to pick at a good...

Re: Australian Minister explains where the HIGHEST gun deaths occurred…and it’s not in America

No Doc, just an ignorance problem. That suits the manipulators of public opinion? How many more mass shootings do you think it will take before majority opinion finally changes for the better? NF, you are using the wrong yardstick. The "ignorance" issues are being addressed by our education system ...

Re: Where are they?

Agreed whole-hardheartedly Jim. As our little community dwindles, we have little hope of new members unless we invite/encourage them from where ever we can. Definitely starting to worry about BookLady, as she has always been here among the stacks in all the Spengler fora incarnations. I don't post m...

Re: What if? Alternative history for part of North America

You may appreciate an alternate history novel called The Two Georges, by Harry Turtledove and Richard Dreyfuss, set in a North America where the colonies reconciled with the government of George III rather seeking independence. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Two_Georges Thanks for the tip off St...
