Re: Greece: Progress made but prospects still grim

Greece's Bailouts end but the outlook is still poor. There are two key reasons the economy is not producing more and better jobs. The first is that Greece’s tax and social-insurance burdens are crushing. Greek’s tax wedge—the tax burden on employment—is significantly above the average in Organizati...

Re: Greece: Progress made but prospects still grim

Yes, I await the financial rapture you keep prophesying. I don't know what you mean. From the parts of the article I made bold, it is clear that for Greece to survive, they need to cut spending, lower taxes and deregulate. In other words, they need to do the opposite of what the Socialists want. Th...

Evil Socialists in America wants revolution, not democracy

Newt Gingrich: Democrats have no idea what demons they are unleashing So the Vox article (or manifesto) is worth taking seriously. Reading it, I was struck by how remarkably honest it was. The writer, Meagan Day, a member of the East Bay Chapter of DSA, explicitly debunks the apologists in the main...

The solution to the Greek problem is very different from what you think: 1. Increase production for the external markets until...

By Yannis Palaiologos Aug. 19, 2018 6:07 p.m. ET Athens It took three bailouts, around €290 billion in loans from its European partners and the International Monetary Fund, countless nights of knife-edge negotiations, an avalanche of austerity, a...

Re: Thank you New Zealand

I do not mean to quibble but by telling you that you are almost like a Kiwi, he communicated to you that he valued his nationality or culture above your Hokkien or Teochi one. That might even be true despite cassowary's denial. He does not seem to know his Kiwi hosts as well as he believes he does....

Crazy Rich Asians

Reviewer: Conspicuously Consuming Fun Crazy Rich Asians,” a movie about people who have it all, succeeds in having almost all on its own ambitious terms. Bright, buoyant and hilarious, though far from flawless, this romantic comedy, directed by Jon M. Chu and based on the popular novel by Kevin Kwa...
