Praying that God make “Pope Francis” a good pope is like praying to God that He make “Caitlyn Jenner” the prettiest woman in the world.

Again, His Holiness, Pope Francis is the Pope. He was validly elected by the College of Cardinals when Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI, resigned. Pope Emeritus Benedict was not coerced, he freely chose to resign and retire. Popes can do that. He is no longer Peter's successor, upon resigning he passed the keys of the Church. Pope Francis is now Peter's successor, and remains until he dies, or resigns.

Yes, Izz, there is a Pope, and it is Pope Francis. The site you provided is a Sede Vacantist site, i.e. crackpots, and not a Catholic site. That site is promoting apostasy.
I think that abdication will be the norm for Popes from now on: the RCC doesn't want the reports of taking them off life support when they get too old!

Hmmm ! ! ! !

This was not abdication, this was a "historical", one in RCC lifetime, REGIME CHANGE.

Ratzinger was old school sort of fascist (Bavarians usually ultra right, bordering fascism .. nothing unusual for that neighbourhood).

But,

Ratzinger was a clever AND wise man .. he understood when to "fold" .. when he realized he had no chance to stop RCC sinking into "filth", RCC decided, best defence is a strong offence .. here comes the Jesuit father 007, Francis.

And now, it's smooooth sailin .. homos too can go to paradise, even Atheist.

Poor "Jesus" turning in his grave

No, MILO, abdication will not be the norm as this no abdication, rather a "Regime Change" .. we entering the 2nd reformation of Christianity .. 3rd reformation would be pure Atheism

More likely Ratzinger was endowed with sufficient humility to be aware that he was out of touch with his times.

No one, homo, atheist or otherwise, has an automatic right to go to paradise.

[quote="Cyclamen persicum"Poor "Jesus" turning in his grave [/quote]

Why should "poor" Jesus turn in his grave? When alive on this Earth Jesus not infrequently invited scandal down upon himself (and his followers - guilt by association) by forgiving the sins (on behalf of His father in heaven) of sinners including those who, under Jewish religious law of the time, should have been put to death as a penalty. Forgiving homos and atheists their sins is therefore perfectly in line with Jesus' own behavioral record.

Please bear in mind that the ideal of being Christian incorporates neither Jewish righteousness nor the Muslim precept that one merely needs to submit to the will of Allah in order to be numbered among the saints. :D
