Thanks so much for that link Milo. It is refreshing to see that the spirit of protest in the USA did not die out with the 1960's decade.
Milo, I am moved to wonder whether the US is in for a decade or more of public protest and upheaval reminiscent of the 1960's?

Whilst Lyndon Baines Johnson (tagged by author Philip Roth in his black comedy novel Our Gang as Lyon B Johnson  ) who got the US mired down into the (unwinnable ) Vietnam War but was still, despite this, politically much more competent than Donald Trump; in his own peculiar style he was just as flamboyant.

I am convinced that it was the growing number of dead bodies of conscript soldiers returning from Vietnam that sowed disquiet and then outrage among the American public: on top of the spirit of protest that had already infected the black community over the issue of civil rights. The cumulative, combined effect was to expose the deep divisions within American society for all of the World to see.

Trump has not yet gotten America mired down into anything akin to the Vietnam War but give the man time. He seems to regard North Korea and it's defiant dictator in much the same way as an enraged bull regards a fluttering red rag.

Scary, eh?
Trump has lied about so much for so let that it's pretty much impossible to tell what he believes.

So far what seems most likely to bring him down is his history with women.
Thanks for reply Milo.

Well, Bill Clinton had something of "a history" with women yet he still managed to serve out two full successive terms as POTUS. Why do you believe that it will be any different with Trump?
Part of the reason for Hillary's defeat was Clinton's history with women and her silence and push back against the accusers.

Women are coming into their own now: more and more of them are in positions of power. And social media spreads their message further and faster than ever before.

The Democrats will work very hard to ensure that their candidates are not tainted by harassment; the Republicans not so much.

Half the population is female, so you just need them and a handful of men to win.
Just another political ploy on the part of Democratic politicians. Who BTW have gotten 100's of thousands of people killed in the ME inclluding HIllary

As for women being abused, HIllary stands out in her own right on that

So Milo if you were a court appointed lawyer for the rapist of a 12 year girl and got the child rapist off, would you brag about it later?

This is the Democratic party since the Clintons were in the white house. And the Cllintons are still in control of the Democratic party. Haven't you heard? Hillary is planning to run again.

And Trump? He is not going anywhere until 2025.
Yes, I would brag about it.

As to the rest, time will tell.

There won't be a democratic party after this year. Bernie supporters are becoming disillusioned with Bernie since he is still saying that the Russians elected Trump while the Clinton folks are saying that the Russians helped both Bernie and Jill Stein.
