Nuclear weapons are not for aggressive purposes, they are a deterrent.
Try telling that to the survivors of Hiroshima and Nagasaki one day, Sertorio!
If you read my previous post you saw that I consider the US as one of the very few countries which would use nuclear weapons aggressively...
:? Then it seems that you have contradicted yourself Sertorio.

No. The US - plus Israel and maybe Pakistan - are exceptions to the rule.

Sertorio, you stated categorically that (quote) "Nuclear weapons are not for aggressive purposes, they are a deterrent." Then you try to tell us that the USA is the exception to this rule? You have since named two others: Israel and possibly Pakistan, as additional members of the potential thermonuclear aggressors club.

Sorry Sertorio, but you cannot have it both ways. You cannot (figuratively) expect to "run with the hare and hunt with the hounds" without blowing your own credibility. Either thermonuclear weapons are deterrent weapons in the hands of those states who currently possess them or else they are potential aggressors' weapons in everybody's hands.

Don’t panic: three myths about the North Korean threat.

"http://www.atimes.com/article/dont-pani ... an-threat/

It seems that KIm Jong Un holds no malicious intentions towards the USA. He just wants to dominate the Korean peninsula.

The US alliance backing for South Korea inconveniently gets in his way.

Everybody knows that. No South Korean wants to be ruled by Fatty Kim. The US, being a do-gooder, wants to protect the South against the bad guys. Now, if N Korean missiles can reach the US, it means that the US will not be able to protect South Korea. Which American President will allow Washington DC to be nuked to save South Korea?

I have always said that the US is a force for good, but leftists always disagree and try to hobble the US.

Kim Jong-un is not stupid. He must know that South Korea has gone so far down the capitalist road that it could never be integrated with North Korea. I'm sure all he wants is to keep his own kingdom and be left in peace by all other countries.

No, it is the family ambition to conquer the south. Poland, East Germany etc were capitalistic before the USSR conquered them during WWII. They became Socialist.

Don't compare the size and power of the USSR relative to Poland or East Germany to North Korea's 25 million people against Sout Korea's 51 million... No way NK could swallow SK!...

N Korea has nukes. S Korea does not. So without US protection, N Korea can take over S Korea.
