GIven the US is officially at war with North Korea and North Korea is threatening to annihilate the US it certainly is our business.
North Korea could never "annihilate" the US. North Korea developed nuclear weapons to defend itself from US aggression. To be effective all NK needs is to be able to destroy two or three major US cities. If the US stops threatening North Korea, stops trying to sabotage the current North Korea / South Korea talks, and takes its troops away from South Korea, there will be no danger of North Korea destroying any American city. The regime question is strictly for North Koreans to solve, when they feel strongly enough about it.
Three nuclear atmospheric bursts is all that it would take. Of course that would be a death sentence execution for Kim Jong Un if he thought he could get away with it.
I agree. Normally I wouldn't cite Fox News, but in this case the article came up conveniently and the threat it's describing is all too plausible:

Actually I think the prospects for NK peace have never been better!
"North Korean leader Kim Jong Un met senior South Korean government officials for the first time and said it is his “firm will to vigorously advance” inter-Korean ties and pursue reunification, the North’s official news agency said on Tuesday."

Not until Kim Jong Un gives up his nukes will this be settled.
Forget it. Kim would have to be crazy to give up his nukes. They are the only thing which will prevent the hegemon attacking North Korea.
The "hegemon" didn't attack North Korea before it had nukes. Even without nukes the DPRK can level Seoul in minutes with artillery. South Korea even admits that in the event of war, their approach will be to abandon Seoul and simply try to save everything else.
