What? The US is supporting Kurdish forces in the face of ('NATO ally") Turkish opposition? That runs against the grain of all US foreign policy decisions in the ME over the years.

I expect that has less to do with the new alligators running the swamp and more to do with general Western dissatisfaction with Erdoğan.

There are definitely "new alligators running the swamp." The biggest difference? These new honcho 'gators seem to be acting more in America's best interests, and not in the interests of radical Islam.
