Maybe essays by David P. Goldman should all go in one spot.

In any case, here is, to the best of my knowledge, his first one for 2017:

Why not just slap on tariffs? - David P. Goldman, PJ Media, 18 January 2017

Let's try this modelling exercise. Let's envision a world in a parallel universe somewhere let's say, where I'm right.........

APPLAUSE !!!!
Donald Trump, American hero
Sinner though he may be, Donald Trump is this generation's incarnation of John Bunyan's pilgrim, writes David P. Goldman. Like a character from Sinclair Lewis or Frank Capra, he stands as a lone wolf ready to avenge the injustices of globalization
APPLAUSE!!!

Okay! Davy Goldman, an inspired writer, has convinced even me that Donald Trump is a very American sort of president. But does this mean that he is equipped to provide the US with a better standard of government than his predecessors in office?

I fear that Spengler might be trying to put a brave face on an very embarrassing situation.

By contrast, Spengler's proposal to selectively place tariffs on some imports that are being "dumped" on the US market to the detriment of equivalent US industries makes a great deal of sense. Let us hope that Donald Duck ( sorry, that's TRUMP) :) takes note.

WHy stop at Spengler? What do you all think about a forum for pundits that we find interesting? Each with their own thread?

Yes, Doc. If each member was limited to suggesting one pundit, I'd put up Krauthammer.

Apparently he is not only posting articles, he is now part owner:

David P. Goldman

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_P._Goldman
David Paul Goldman (born September 27, 1951) is an American economist,[1] music critic, and author, best known for his series of online essays in the Asia Times under the pseudonym Spengler. Goldman says that he writes from a Judeo-Christian perspective and often focuses on demographic and economic factors in his analyses; he says his subject matter proceeds "from the theme formulated by [Franz] Rosenzweig: the mortality of nations and its causes, Western secularism, Asian anomie, and unadaptable Islam."[2] On March 14, 2015, Goldman and long time Asia Times associate, Uwe Von Parpart, took control of Asia Times HK Ltd.

Reading through this Wikipedia entry I noticed that David also occasionally contributes to the Claremont Review of Books.

Here is a piece I enjoyed which is a fuller treatment of a theme that he has taken up elsewhere:

Good idea. I will start a couple of threads on two of my favourites.
