Re: Crimea

Those people who think Crimeans are suffering under Russian oppression, and expect a revolt against Russia, may as well forget it. Crimeans are now better off than they have ever been and would be crazy to want to go back to the Ukrainian failed state. I recently heard a couple of Crimean Russians ...

Re: US Foreign Policy

Precisely what "secular character of the political system" in Syria is Russia saving? No discrimination based on faith or religion. Syrians of all faiths have access to any positions in the Syrian society. As long as they support Bashar al-Assad... :D Sertorio may well be right on this point. The A...

Re: Australian Minister explains where the HIGHEST gun deaths occurred…and it’s not in America

Not in the form of school shootings. And specifically gun violence in general has gone down over time. Appealing to a straw man argument doesn't do anything for me NF and again says nothing about the actual cause of school shootings.. Well, these two bar graphs in the link below are no straw man, D...

Re: Russia meddled in U.S. election: George W. Bush

Does anyone know how many elections in foreign countries which the US meddled - and which ones these are?

Harder to wallow in righteous indignation once you become aware of having sinned the same way.

Gun ownership has always been part of this country [/youtube]
So it seems has gun related violence.

Appealing to hallowed tradition only helps to entrench the problem: not resolve it.

Re: Australian Minister explains where the HIGHEST gun deaths occurred…and it’s not in America

The first paragraph supports the idea that "un violence and gun ownership do not necessarily go hand in hand." In the second paragraph the information seems either incomplete or the person talking through their hat. "having access" has a fuzzy meaning Well, the meaning of the second paragraph seems...

Re: Russia meddled in U.S. election: George W. Bush

Nobody said it was a hoax. What was a hoax was that Trump colluded with the Russians. In fact, through Steele's Russian informers, it was Clinton who colluded with the Russians. Those informers of Christopher Steele were likely to be FSB (formerly called KGB). Putin was helping both sides to shake ...

Re: well, unfettered capitalism does not seem to work too well either!

Private fortunes of the rich can easily be protected using tax havens. What I fear is that Socialism will lead to bankruptcy and dictatorship. That is what is happening now in Venezuela. You do not need socialism to ruin a country cassowary; only mismanagement. You credit Singapore's wealth to "fre...
