As for the US and other foreign participants of this conflict; don't you think that the stakes are now too high to make withdrawal an easy option?
What stakes? There is no alternative to withdrawal.

Re: 'Why was there a civil war?' - more of Trump's wisdom.

Slavery only became the horror we know when slaves became a commodity, something which is very "capitalist"... Yes, I know that this seaborne slave running was carried out on an industrial scale. reading your post helped me to realise why. Before Europeans reached the coast of west Africa and got i...

Re: 'Why was there a civil war?' - more of Trump's wisdom.

I was under the impression that slavery was adopted by the US following a Russian propaganda campaign in favour of serfdom. But Americans felt that serfdom, being a Russian thing, was far too harsh and undemocratic and so opted for slavery instead... :D :? Well, bear in mind that back in Afr...

Lastly, Portuguese Brazil was the last to end slavery. Brazil is independent since 1822, so the issue of slavery in Brazil was an internal matter, Portugal had no saying in the matter. While slavery was preserved in Portugal's overseas possessions, it was made illegal in the realm in 1761, one cent...

"ISIS was occupying Mosul and therefore had no reason to destroy it."
Then why did they destroy so much of the city?
They didn't. The coalition did, to dislodge them. Although I guess that once the street by street fight started, ISIS fire contributed to the destruction.

Someday Islam might take it upon itself to eliminate barbaric Muslim savages. Until that fine day arrives, expect more cities destroyed...
