The UK has laws against spreading false information.

That is in part why pro lifers don't get much traction there.
Interesting. Can someone be a pro lifer only on the basis of false information?...

Re: Vive la France

Been watching President Macron's address to the U.S. Congress. The usual platitudes, but some good stuff, too. He's fluent in English, as contrasted with President Trump, whose knowledge of French is limited to voulez vous coucher avec moi. Can imagine Trump speaking this evening at the White House...

Re: Trump's Revenge: US floods EU with oil

Europeans will co-operate with Russia after Russia stops threaening Europe - like the Ukraine, the Baltics and Poland. We do not under estimate Russia. It is you who over estimate it. Russia does not threaten Europe at all. The Baltic states may find it convenient to act as if they are being threat...

Re: Trump's Revenge: US floods EU with oil

Underestimating your adversaries is the first step towards defeat. Some of you - especially Cass and Milo - seem to think that by repeatedly underestimating Russia this country will effectively get weaker. Russia is indeed a bit too overdependent on natural resources, but it has many customers besid...

Re: Trump's Revenge: US floods EU with oil

Go Trump go. Deregulate the oil industry more and release more federal land for oil exploration. Lousy OPEC and Russians - they are always trying to manipulate the oil price so that we have to pay more. It serves them right. The more they cut production, the more oil the US will sell. Good. I hope ...

Re: Trump's Revenge: US floods EU with oil

Most nations desire energy self-sufficiency, just as they seek food self-sufficiency. Few are able to achieve either. America is one of the lucky exceptions. Out here we do better than that Jim. We produce less than half our oil needs from our own wells but it does not seem to bother us. You see, r...

Re: in Venezuela, WHAT Revolution? They only have ongoing tradition down there.

Thanks for your dignified and reasoned reply Cass. I concede that when I last posted I was in a shitty mood. If they are born blind or become disabled in an accident and cannot work, I am for helping with taxpayers' money. But they should still do what they can, even if disabled. Good! When given h...

Re: Trump wants Arab allies to replace US troops in Syria

We will have to wait and see. But Bashar al-Assad will get the chance to show which one of us is right, because he will win the war. I agree that he shall win. But will his victory make either Assad a better person or Syria a better country? It will make Assad a more realistic person, and thus will...

Re: an afterthought.

.... It's to confine Islamic savagery to Islamic lands while allowing Kurds in Kurdistan and Jews in Israel to live in peace. Jim, speaking of "confining savagery": is it not high time that the US confined its much noted propensity for violence to within its own borders; ruining the lives and happi...
