Are you sure only 10 feet BL; not 10 meters?
Feet. This means that in the surge predicted by NOAA, the first floor of most buildings in coastal South Florida will be under water, and on top of that the wave action. Brutal.

Re: She's a Beast!

We're boarding up today and deciding whether to leave or not in the morning here in the Jacksonville area. Everyone stay safe out there! We're a bit south of you, Armchair, and most likely we will stay put. But that may change if Irma comes in as a Cat. 5 after visiting central Florida. Goo...

Re: She's a Beast!

Well, over here in Florida things are looking scary. The coastal folks have been evacuating since surges are expected to be high, well over 10 feet in most places.

Thank heavens that the eye missed these islands. Pray for Turks and Caicos and the Bahama Islands where it is probable the eye will go over them. The winds in the eye of this category 5 storm are 185 and 225mph. The waters are very warm over the Bahamas, this will continue to fuel Irma, it's still a...

Re: MacArthur

Washington, until darn old Trump came along, had chief executives who as a rule used their heads in deciding national (and international) policy.   No, no, no. They didn't use their heads, perhaps we would not be in this mess if some of them had. They were mainly owned by big, deep ...

Sertorio, I'm worried about you, you need to take it easy. You're beginning to sound like it's the end of the world. Keep this up with this unnecessary worry and it will be the end of you. Have you taken your blood pressure lately? Sometimes I think Americans do not worry enough... Do you think tha...

Re: The Illuminati Conspiracy

Speaking of chaos, Hurricane Irma, a nasty Category 5 hurricane is going to visit Florida. So far, it doesn't look good for the poor little islands in its path. I'm praying for the poor folks in its path. The path in Florida is uncertain, but it looks from its size alone that it's a whole state eve...
