Re: Porky the Pig Weinstein caught on tape

Twitter, in my view, is alive only because many celebrities find it useful. It burns cash, with no plan to get profitable, and it doesn't even make up for it with volume. Some 80% of users try it and leave it, it's overall numbers are pathetic too; you know it's bad when you are beat out by LinkedI...

Re: even when America wins it still loses.

If the Iraqi government forces are driving out ISIS that can only mean that the Shias are tightening their grip on the Sunni north. Big geostrategic gain for Iran. Maybe or maybe not. I think Trump's assistance has restored some American influence in Iraq. It lessens their dependency on Iran. Even ...

Would these do only what their American paymasters tell them to do or can they use the money as they think fit? Those paymasters have a known history of tight control over their donees. Furthermore, the support for the FI only comes from those who overtly support a narrow political agenda, IOW, the...

Re: Exit the United Nations?

Roosevelt and Churchill largely created the present order and there hasn't been a world war since. I don't see anyone who is their equal in leadership these days.

Re: A Universal Basic Income May Not Be So Yay After All........

It is not often that the purely financial argument for this is mooted. If we look at total outlay it looks to me like we can achieve notable savings. For example, it would be difficult to imagine that the resources spent on screening assistance recipients and checking up on them to be sure they cont...
